Freeze on new licensed premises in Kings X
A Freeze on new licensed venues in Kings Cross will 18 September 2012be extended to 2015 and the area will be covered by an accord to crack down on alcohol-fuelled violence, the NSW government says.
ID scanners at licensed pubs and clubs will be installed to keep track of unruly patrons, more night bus services added and a pre-paid taxi trial undertaken, under measures announced by Premier Barry O’Farrell on Tuesday.
He said legislation would be introduced by the end of the year to both freeze new liquor outlets for the area for another three years and extend the area covered by the Kings Cross Liquor Accord to take in premises in Potts Point and Elizabeth Bay.
