NSW government Response to issues in Kings Cross
The NSW Government has already delivered a range of actions to combat alcohol-related violence and anti-social behaviour across New South Wales.
To date, the government has introduced expanded move on powers for Police, a new intoxicated and disorderly offence, and the “three strikes” legislation for licensed venues.
On 15 August 2012 the government announced in Parliament a number of proposed tough new conditions on Kings Cross pubs, bars, nightclubs and restaurants following an audit of all premises within the Kings Cross Precinct Liquor Accord by the Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing.
