New Liquor Accord signed for Townsville

The Government has welcomed the signing of a liquor accord in Townsville today, which will improve safety in the city’s central entertainment areas.

Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Jarrod Bleijie said both the Government and industry recognised the valuable role liquor accords played in keeping the community safe.

“A liquor accord is an agreement between licensees and other groups to work together to reduce alcohol-related violence and offences in entertainment precincts,” he said.
