Stonnington award for excellence in alcohol management

The Chapel Street Precinct is the place to have a drink, after the City of Stonnington  received the 2012 Award for Excellence in Alcohol Management at the National Awards for Local Government on the 19 July.

Council in partnership with the Stonnington Liquor Accord, the Chapel Street Precinct Association, Police and health agencies have taken an active role to reduce alcohol related harm through changes to the planning scheme, implementation of trial taxi zones, expansion of the Chapel Street Precinct Community Safety Camera Program and actively developing initiatives to ensure the Precinct is an enjoyable and safe experience for all.

The Stonnington Liquor Accord is a voluntary commitment by licensed premises to best practices in and around licensed premises in the Chapel Street Precinct.
